Snow Day…

February8

Happy Monday!! DC got 1000 feet of snow over Friday and Saturday. Ok so it’s not 1000 ft but it sure feels like it. I haven’t been to work since Thursday and the office is closed again. All of the transportation Departments in DC and the surrounding suburbs have pretty much said not to expect the neighborhoods to be dug out before today.  We’ll see…

I don’t mind a snow day or two  but right now I kinda feel like this…

or this…

 snow day

So what’s a girl to do? I’m pretty sure I should have been more productive (or a least have done some yoga) but I’ve read all of my magazines, watched terrible 1950’s B movies and even did a kookie craft or two.

Next I think I’m going to have to break out the sewing machine and get to work. Especially since there is more snow in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. Perhaps I can emerge, snow covered yet radiant with a new wardrobe.

[...] Olowu’s use of strong tailoring and architectural draping mixed with fun prints and soft flowing textiles (I think it’s a silk chiffon, but I can’t quite tell from here–feel free to correct me) has me daydreaming of  frolicking through the changing trees again, but not of snow. [...]

Let the beauty of what you love be what you do. -Rumi

I’m Jessica and that quote by Rumi are the words by which I live.

_1010729

With a BA in Art History and a MA in Interior Design, I am armed to create beautiful spaces where ever I go and I am always researching, learning and doing in pursuit of my creative endeavors. Because I needed a place  where my design ideas,  discoveries, creative whims and inspirations could call home, Design Wonderland was born. Here, in my wonderland, I curate an eclectic mix of all wonderful things that inspire me on a daily basis. Though my first loves have always been art, fashion and design, I am also inspired by my insatiable appetite for good food, good friends, new places, beautiful poetry and lots of tea. My hope is that through sharing my thoughts, you will be inspired to create something beautiful too.

Beauty is all around,

Jessica
