Kitchen Duty: The Backsplash
In a space, it’s always a successful overall design that is most important, but the details always add personality to the design. It’s the thing that makes it not just a beautiful house but also a home. With that in mind, I’ve been looking at unique options for backsplashes lately.
Here’s a few faves that I found recently:

This is a tumbled limestone mosaic tile that creates a beautiful textured look when paired with the raw wood shelf.
Stainless steel in the kitchen is not a new concept, but sometimes in it beauty can look a bit sterile. I think that the honeycomb shape is a way to liven up stainless and make it more fun.

I heart these cork tiles. It has such interesting look and with its color can add depth to a kitchen or bath. Of course, I’d love to see it in a kitchen.

This last option I thought was unique because it is actually reclaimed wood. It lends a look of farmhouse chic and a bit of history to the kitchen. The reclaimed also creates a lovely textured look and I love the balloon drawn on it too!!
As you can see, I’m all about materials that add visual interest and I love materials that add more dimensional texture and depth.
