I am going to make everything around me beautiful. That will be my life. -Elsie de Wolfe

And because a woman can not exist on beauty, brains and design alone, good food is a must. With that in mind I thought I would include some of my favorite food reads (and some that are on my to read list). I count this as research should I ever be asked to design a restaurant :

I just started reading:

I mentioned this book to a friend who thought I was depressed (I’m so not).  But these short stories show that eating and dining alone is an art that should be celebrated. Table for one please!

I already read:

I’m always thisclose to packing my bags and moving to Paris. Because of Julia’s book I entertained the idea of taking cooking classes at Le Cordon Bleu.  It was an inspiring quick read on how she discovered the art of fine French cooking

And of course I read:

Amazing and Hilarious!! Turning 30 + frenzy+blog = greatness. I can’t wait for the movie.

On the List:

This book has been on my list for awhile as I listen to Lynn Rosetto Kasper’s show The Splendid Table. It’s such a fantastic show, that I must have this in my collection.

Hello Gorgeous! This book is visually stunning. I first heard about it on a Bon Appetit podcast and since then it’s become another must have for me!

The woman who launched the career of Julia Child also led an uncoventional life. Need I say more?

Let the beauty of what you love be what you do. -Rumi

I’m Jessica and that quote by Rumi are the words by which I live.

With a BA in Art History and a MA in Interior Design, I am armed to create beautiful spaces where ever I go and I am always researching, learning and doing in pursuit of my creative endeavors. Because I needed a place  where my design ideas,  discoveries, creative whims and inspirations could call home, Design Wonderland was born. Here, in my wonderland, I curate an eclectic mix of all wonderful things that inspire me on a daily basis. Though my first loves have always been art, fashion and design, I am also inspired by my insatiable appetite for good food, good friends, new places, beautiful poetry and lots of tea. My hope is that through sharing my thoughts, you will be inspired to create something beautiful too.

Beauty is all around,

Jessica
