In Full Bloom
A couple of months ago, I posted on the gorgeous paper camelias from the Spring 2009 Chanel Couture Show. Well, I may be more smitten with Designer Amy Lau’s gorgeous installation for the 2009 Kips Bay Decorator Show House.
In collaboration with artitst Jo Lynn Alcorn and in celebration of Maya Romanoff’s 40th anniversary, Amy Lau used Maya Romanoff’s wallpapers to bring these gorgeous magnolias to life.
I love to see designer’s design drawings. Here, in the picture above and the elevation/rendering, we see how Lau’s design highlights the curving staircase of the Kip’s Bay Mansion.
{a lovely detail of the magnolias.}
Maya Romanoff produces beautiful wallpapers, so it’s easy to understand Amy Lau’s inspiration. Yet, somehow with her 3-D magnolias she created something even more stunning.
